Please don't be angry with us

Something I want people to remember about Christians.

No we shouldn't shove our beliefs down your throat, you're right. But consider what they believe.

If you believed that anyone (especially someone you really loved or cared about) was going to be in pain, you'd want to do something to stop that or to help them. Think about what a Christian believes about death and the afterlife and what happens to those who don't accept Jesus as their savior.

Now carefully examine how a believer is acting first of course. Some of them are just preaching for self-righteous reasons, to validate that they are "holier than thou". But more often than not, if a Christian is trying to preach to you, they're just doing what they know they should do according to their faith and they're really just trying to save you. Whether you believe it or not.

They're scared for you because they care.

So if a Christian is preaching at you too much, kindly ask them to stop if it's bothering you. If they don't, yes you should walk away if it's making you uncomfortable and you can even get angry. But please please PLEASE don't hold it against them forever or against other believers.

As a believer (albeit, one who struggles a lot with it lately) these are all things I understand and think about and it's an incredibly painful thought.
